Creating Protected Areas for the Conservation of Biodiversity

OUR MISSION

Wild Ecosystems Conservation Initiative works to conserve biodiversity, restore wildlands and ensure in perpetuity the ecological processes of native ecosystems. Through the protection of large landscapes, restoration of degraded habitat and rewilding of natural ecosystems we work to preserve the planet for all species.

OUR VISION

Our vision is rooted in protecting wilderness and wildlife, prioritizing the expansion of terrestrial and marine protected areas for the conservation of biodiversity. We see the loss of biodiversity as the greatest crisis of our time and work to protect large, connected wild landscapes, restoring all native plant and animal species.

WHERE WE WORK

We’re currently working in North and South America to designate wilderness, create parklands and rewild landscapes. Each landscape we work to protect has important cultural, historical and ecological values that make our projects unique.
